I haven’t posted after the first yoga session because I had a busy work schedule and was keeping unwell too. I should, however, clarify that I did not miss the two sessions, Hatha Blend and Vinyasa after the last post on Saturday.
Khadija is my instructor for Hatha Blend and Christine, for Vinyasa which I attended today. I told them both about my training for the climb up Mt. Kilimanjaro, and they both had encouraging words for me.
The last two 7am lessons attracted very few members. Sunday’s session had 3 members while today’s had 4, both including me. Since we are so few, we get more personalized attention from the instructors and they tailor the pace of the yoga to our personal goals; in my case to reach fitness levels as soon as possible.
Khadi and Christine have impressed me with their calm and relaxing tone of voice, and by showing respect for each of our fitness levels. On some postures I fair poorer than my peers and on others I match them. Most of my peers have been practicing yoga for atleast 3 months, so I don’t think I’m in a bad position with my present level of fitness.
I feel much better now after my short bout with mild fever and joint pain. I am raring to go at the next yoga session on Thursday. Thanks to Khadi and Christine, without whose yoga sessions, I guess I’d still be in bed nursing an illness and feeling tired and lazy.
